Hayward City Council meeting = success!

Thanks to everyone who turned out tonight to let the City of Hayward know that its residents believe that safe and local access to medical marijuana is a priority for them. Many comments were made from a spectrum of local residents and movement representatives, with absolutely no dissenting voices present (who can argue against medicine?) and we’ll be sure to post a link to the video of the meeting as soon as the city does the same. Good work, everyone!

The weather for the next week or two is going to be dreadful. If we had a choice between slogging through all that wind and rain or sitting at home in front of a fire (or glowing monitor, or TV set, or whatever) we know what we’d choose.

Feds no longer prosecuting medical marijuana

Great news! The Justice Department handed down a memo today instructing its attorneys that pot-smoking patients or their sanctioned suppliers should NOT be targeted for federal prosecution in states that allow medical marijuana (link). California, of course, is one of those states.
Since we started operating in 2001 (actually, going back even further than that), HPRC has seen a lot changes to state and federal attitudes, but this has to be one of the most positive developments ever.
With this news, patients can have complete security and peace of mind when obtaining their medication.

09/12/09: Power outage, phones down

That big thunderstorm that roared through the Bay Area this morning reached out and smacked the transformer PG&E uses to deliver delicious electricity to our office. This means the phones are downl. Everything should be back to normal on Sunday when we open at 11am, please call back at that time.
